Cherie’s Personal Fitness & Weight Loss: Day One
Hey there!
Have you ever seen, known or heard of people who can advise and help EVERYONE else…but when it comes to themselves, it’s a totally different story?
Well, that’s been me. Yes, I’ve helped others to shed pounds, lose inches, gain more energy and the whole nine…but I have my OWN personal goals that I need to accomplish. See, I was always considered, “skinny”. I have a relatively small frame. But after having children, I packed on the pounds and got up to 150′ish. That’s a lot when you’re used to being no more than 130 LBS. Then, some years later, I became a raw fooder where I ate primarily fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and sprouted grains (as well as recipes created from those items) and I didn’t cook ANY of it! After a short while of eating that way, my weight went down to 124-128.
After a while, that way of eating became too taxing on my family and I found out that there were some things we were doing incorrectly…so we went back to the Standard American Diet (SAD) with a VENGEANCE! We ate everything we used to eat before going raw and THEN some! And naturally, my weight slowly but surely came right back on me, little by little and I got back to that 145-150 range.
But now I’m learning how to have a more balanced healthy diet and so began my journey back to health and not being overweight!
What Are My Goals?
A lot of people look at me and roll their eyes when I talk about (personally) losing weight or needing to lose weight. “Girl please…you’re small, you don’t need to lose weight!”, is what I hear – or something like it.
Thing is, and I want you to pay VERY close attention to this…
It all starts SOME-where!
I mean think about it, do you think that those who weigh in at over 3oo (or even 200) lbs got there overnight? Heck no! Some may have had weight issues as a child and on into adulthood, but many start off just like me…small frame, weighing around 130 or so and then it slowly starts to climb…140, 150, 170, 180, 200 and before long…it’s an uphill battle that many, unfortunately, give up on trying to ‘win’. And this is ESPECIALLY the case for us ladies after we have children!
It comes on us so gradually that we don’t even notice it until we go to try and put on an article of clothing and it’s tighter than we remembered when we last put it on.
But even then, most of us shrug it off, or simply go buy bigger clothes. So again, me being, not VERY overweight, but still overweight nonetheless according to the BMI (Body Mass Index) chart; if I don’t start making some changes NOW, I will most definitely end up climbing the charts!
No, I may not be obese…I may not weigh 200 lbs or 300+ lbs BUT…I am still considered to be overweight for my height – basically, I’m what’s known as “skinny-fat“! As a 5’4″ woman, 145 is at the very BOTTOM of the chart in the healthy weight zone and at 146.5, I have one foot in the healthy zone and the other foot in the unhealthy zone. I have excess fat on my thighs (cottage cheese city), buttocks and my abdominal region (visceral fat) – which is the worst, unhealthiest place to have fat stored as it can eventually affect the organs.
Therefore my goal is to get WELL below that, not teetering near the end of healthy and the beginning of not-so-healthy but to get in the middle zone of healthy at around 130-135.
Not only that, but aside from getting my weight down, I am also aiming to become more fit, toned and just healthier overall because I have the potential to be a very ill woman with a family history of diabetes, hypertension and renal failure.
And I’m going to REACH my goals using two major arsenals:
1. The Pure Trim Mediterranean System (the ULTIMATE Weight Loss Starter Pak, to be exact) and…
2. The 7 Minute Work Out Program
Those are my “weapons” of choice in this battle of the bulge.
And one other, more superficial, goal is to fit into these doggone size 8 jeans my daughter bought me for Christmas that FIT more like a size 6 - ’cause I can wear some 8′s, but not THESE bad boys! LOL!
Follow Me As I Progress!
I will be documenting my progress…not necessarily on a daily basis, but at least weekly if not bi-weekly.
So be on the lookout for before & afters, videos and updates!
Now as for today…day one…
I’ve done my weigh-in and measurements as follows:
Weight – 146.5
Neck – 13
Arms – 10 1/2
Chest – 34
Rib Cage – 30
Waist – 34 (YIKES!)
Thighs – 22
Hip/Butt – 38 (WHOA Nelly!)
Alright, so that’s where I am now…let’s see where I end up at the end of 10 days. If need be, I WILL be going beyond 10 days, but we’ll see how it pans out!
